All of us can do the environment a favor by donating cardboard boxes, crates, drums, bubble wrap, and all types of packaging to a recycling business, which collects these important resources on a regular basis.
If your business ships or posts regularly, you will be able to recycle your own packaging materials (for non-food items) and minimize shipping costs to customers and friends. Companies that specialize in recycled packaging materials can collect excess packaging that can’t be stored in your place of business.
New business opportunities exist for companies able to recycle and re-size cardboard packaging to meet the specific sizing and also for anyone able to find a way to recycle waxed packaging which at the moment, cannot be re-used.
The production of one ton (1'000kg) of cardboard takes about 14 medium-size trees; 400 liters of crude oil; 4'100'000 watts of electricity; 32'000 liter of water and generates four cubic meters of landfill. Anyone implementing this symbol is clearly contributing a lot to the environment and can promote that fact by using the symbol’s sticker on every box that leaves your business.
